CLINTON — On Saturday, February 3, Clinton hosted the Regional wrestling tournament in the CHS Vance Gymnasium. There were nine teams in the house with numerous competitors on the mats.
In the overall standings, the Clinton Maroons took first place, and the Regional Championship, as a team with 191.5 points, 47.5 better than the nearest competing team and 183.5 better than the last place team. Wrestlers were scored through four places with first through third place moving on to sectional matches.
Clinton had nine wrestlers that will move on to the sectional meet today, Friday, (4:30 p.m. start) and Saturday, (10 a.m. start) at Olympia High School in Stanford, Ill.
