CLINTON — Terry and Sharon Ijams celebrated 50 years of marriage on March 18.

Terry and the former Sharon Kramer met while attending Southern Illinois University and were married in 1967 in Booneville Ind. at Hemenway Memorial Presbyterian Church. A honeymoon trip to Gatlinburg Tenn. followed.

During four years in the U.S. Air Force they lived in Turkey and San Antonio and then settled in Clinton in 1971.

The couple have three children, Angie (Dale Beckwith) Cameron of Sullivan, Teresa (Dave)Rogers of Carmel Ind., and Bob (Jaime) of Oswego; and five grandchildren, Jacob Cameron, Laine Cameron, Sydney Ruff, Lincoln Ijams, and Campbell Ijams.

Terry retired from The John Warner Bank as Chairman and CEO after 32 years of service.   Sharon served as a teacher’s assistant at Washington and Douglas Schools.

Both devote much of their time to the events and needs of the Clinton Presbyterian Church.  Since retirement in 2003, they have enjoyed taking several trips each year.

The couple will celebrate in June with a family trip to Gatlinburg.
