CLINTON — Sometimes the simplest recipes can be the most intimidating.

The Cultured Palate introductory yogurt-making class is for anyone curious about how to make yogurt but who may be nervous about trying it. This July, roll up your sleeves, add a new skill to your kitchen repertoire and let Extension Nutrition & Wellness Educator and Registered Dietitian Caitlin Huth guide you through the yogurt making process.

The Cultured Palate yogurt making class will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 30, at the DeWitt County Extension Office, located at 8425 Katie Road, Clinton.

Participants in thr hands-on class will learn how to safely make yogurt at home with only two ingredients, try pre-made yogurt samples and culture their own jar of yogurt to incubate and enjoy later in a parfait, smoothie or just on its own.

Sign up by July 23 online at go.illinois.edu/dmp or with the DeWitt County Extension Office at (217) 935-5764. A $15 class fee covers cost of materials.

Those who attend the class should bring a small insulated cooler or slow cooker and a clean towel to the class to transport their yogurt home. For more information, contact Extension Nutrition & Wellness educator Caitlin Huth at chuth2@illinois.edu or (217) 877-6042.

This class is also being offered from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 24 at the Piatt County Extension Office in Monticello and Thursday, August 9 at the Macon County Extension Office in Decatur.
