CLINTON — In another game from Monday, April 17, the Maroons junior varsity (JV) went up against the Sullivan Redskin's JV team.
This was another close, hard fought game for a Clinton team on this date. The Redskins drew first blood with run in the first inning. Clinton then answered in the second and fourth innings to take the lead.
Sullivan was not satisfied with that outcome, so added a run in the sixth and another in the top of the seventh to retake a one run lead. Then the Maroons made one of their miracle recoveries by tying the score when relief pitcher Branden Cross came to bat in his own cause. Cross hit a walk off single with an RBI winning the game 4-3.
Garrett Wayne pitched 6 innings for the Maroons with Branden Cross pitching the final inning and getting the win. Cross also had 4 quality at bats with 2 hits and 2 RBI's.
Box Score
Sullivan 1 0 0 0 0 1 1 3 Runs 3 Hits 1 Error
Clinton 0 1 0 1 0 0 2 4 Runs 6 Hits 0 Errors
