CLINTON — The DeWitt County Board approved its annual $10,000 contribution to help fund the Office of the State’s Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor. The vote came during the board’s regular meeting on Oct. 22.
“This is the exact same resolution we do every year; the amount has not changed,” said DeWitt County State’s Attorney Dan Markwell. “This allows my office, if I have conflicts, so the appellate prosecutors’ office can handle those, and anything that goes to the appellate court, they handle all the appeals.”
Markwell said the portion the county pays into the program is determined by the size of the county.
