CLINTON — Local veterans are invited to the November 14 meeting of the DeWitt Clinton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in honor of Veterans Day.
The 10 a.m. breakfast at the Clinton American Legion will be followed by a presentation by Ginny Narsete, Vietnam War veteran and National Defense Chairman for the Illinois DAR. She will share information on the Honor Flights Program for female veterans.
The DeWitt Clinton Chapter works with veterans organizations to support medical facilities and housing programs for veterans. In November each year, the chapter observes Veterans Day with speakers who share their stories of military service.
Veterans have also been recognized by the DeWitt Clinton Chapter with Distinguished Service medals for their service. On Flag Day in June, the chapter partners with local veterans for the Community Flag Day Ceremony at Veterans Point at Weldon Springs State Park.
