CLINTON — Doris “Poge” Alwood, 75, of Clinton, passed away at 1 p.m. on August 26, 2024, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
No services are planned at this time. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with cremation rites.

Doris was born on April 4, 1949, in Clinton, the daughter of Lloyd and Louisa (Matheny) Mandrell. She married Charles E. “Charlie” Alwood on June 22, 1968, in Clinton. He passed away on February 8, 2022.
Survivors include her children, Michael (Kathleen Alcorn) Alwood, Springfield, Ill.; Susie (Steve Starkey) Schmid, Clinton; and Claude (Gala) Alwood, Weldon; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; twin brothers, Ollie (Kay) Mandrell, Clinton and Charlie Mandrell, Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
Doris took pride in working for the school district with the children.
