Founders Day Scavenger Hunt to highlight local history

CLINTON — Celebrate Clinton Association and the Vespasian Warner Library are working together to host the Founders Day Scavenger Hunt to connect people with local history.

The scavenger hunt begins October 7 and runs through October 19.

To participate, hunters pick up a list from the library that includes 10 addresses around Clinton.  The list may also be accessed from a QR Code available at ww.vwarner.org.

Once the site is located, visitors will find a card with information about the history of the site and a code they can put on their sheet.

Prizes will be awarded to visitors who return their list to the library with all 10 codes.

“Celebrate Clinton Association is so pleased to be partnering with the library for this event. It offers a chance for families to learn more about our local history and that enhances their sense of community. Clinton has a rich history, and we think this is a fun way to celebrate that history, while learning some little-known stories” said Helen Michelassi, with Celebrate Clinton.

Funding for the Scavenger Hunt was provided by a generous grant from Constellation Energy. When the event is concluded, information on all the historic sites will be posted on the library’s website.

Information about the Scavenger Hunt is available on the library’s website at www.vwarner,org or Celebrate Clinton Association’s Facebook page.
