Welcome to my little corner of culinary delights.
To begin, I would like to thank all those wonderful people who were concerned when my articles abruptly ceased. It warms my heart that the editor received so many phone calls in that regard.
He tried on your behalf to get me to return, but it just was not possible at that time. I owe you an explanation, notwithstanding. It is not for pity or sympathy I give it. It is to seek your understanding that it was due to unavoidable circumstances that still weighs heavily on me.
There have been several deaths in my family beginning with my mother in the fall of 2021, followed by her sister the next year. Last year, it was my first cousin Tony. We were very close. He was the brother I did not have.
I lost my concentration and my desire in things I once enjoyed. My difficulties increased dramatically once my wife’s health slowly declined. Those of you who have lost loved ones who meant everything to you know the torture that the bereaved suffer.
My therapist suggests that I occupy my mind with work. Therefore, I will resume the work and try my best, provided the owner and editor of the newspaper allows it. Please be patient with me if my work is not up to its usual standard.
In regards to my political articles, I knew they would not be received well in this county. Several complained to the editor. Disagreements should be voiced. The editor needs to know so he can evaluate the direction to take. And, do not blame the editor or the newspaper for wanting to provide equitable news. That is the job of a respectable newspaper. Blame me if you must blame someone.
I will now define a reputable newspaper in a free country.
To promote only one side of any controversial subject defines a propaganda newspaper. To be fair and a true servant of the people necessitates the newspaper to give both sides equitably. A viable newspaper does not cater to just favorites. And to drop one’s subscription because of that I view as immature.
Those who wear blinders are limiting their education. Our intelligence is governed by the amount and quality of our education. We need not agree with everything stated to learn from them. These are my views. I welcome an open debate with any who have a disagreement with me. Constructive criticism is a blessing, not a curse. And being corrected is a form of helping a friend. I have good friends.
