THE VILLAGES, Fla. — William Eugene Lowery, 81, of Oviedo, Fla.passed away at 7:12 p.m. on September 14, 2024, at The Villages Regional Hospital of The Villages, Fla.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Maranatha Church, Decatur, with Pastor Doug Lowery officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon. Visitation will be held from 6–9 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Maranatha Church, Decatur, and one hour before the services on Saturday at the church. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.

“Bill” was born on December 10, 1942, in Bloomington, the son of Eugene and Evelyn (Baker) Lowery. He married Gaye Crockett in 2001 in Tucson, Ariz.

Survivors include his wife, Gaye Lowery, Oviedo, Fla.; daughter, Heidi (Carey) Haynes, Abilene, Texas; Ace (Michelle) Lowery, El Paso, Texas; Luke Lowery, El Paso, Texas. Stepdaughters Hannah Bryant and Bethany Bryant of Tucson, Ariz. Grandchildren: Chase Haynes, Brody (Ana) Haynes, Addison Lowery, Ryder Lowery, Hattan Lowery, Everson Lowery, Olivia Tarazon. Great grandchildren Oliver Haynes and Maeve Haynes.

He is also survived by his brother Douglas (Rosemary) Lowery, of Decatur; sister Jeanene (Phillip) Edrington, of Decatur. Uncle Bill was very proud of his many nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his parents Walter Eugene Lowery and Evelyn (Baker) Lowery, of Weldon; his son William Todd Lowery, his brother Dennis (Gloria) Lowery, his sister Carolyn (Donald) Sennhenn, his niece Alicia Lynn Sennhenn, and nephew Darren Eugene Dragoo.
