CLINTON — Dorothea M. Lawson, 93, of Clinton, passed away at 10:46 p.m. on June 14, 2018, at Heritage Health, Normal, Ill.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 18, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, with pastor John Roberson officiating. There will not be a visitation. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to the children’s church at the First Baptist Church, Clinton.
Dorothea was born on April 29, 1925, in Clinton, the daughter of Oliver Warren and Bessie Mae (Ellington) Weaver. She married Harold E. “Gene” Lawson on July 17, 1948, in Bloomington, Ill. He passed away on July 25, 2002.
Survivors include her brother, Sherrill (Marge) Weaver, Sun City Center, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, eight sisters and two brothers.
Dorothea was a member of the First Baptist Church, Clinton. She was retired from the Duvall County School Board, Jacksonville, Fla, and State Farm Insurance Company.
Dorothea enjoyed woodworking and making Christmas ornaments.
