CLINTON — Travis Stanley Williams, 92, of Clinton, passed away at 8:50 Pp.m. on March 19, 2019, at Manor Court, Clinton.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, with Allison Hitchings officiating. Full military honors will follow. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to Clinton Eagles, FOE 593.
Stan was born on August 9, 1926 in Beardstown, Ill., the son of Wayne Stone and Beatrice Elmira (Adams) Williams. He married Doris Elizabeth Burge on August 9, 1947, in Clinton. She passed away on June 30, 1982. He later married Marilyn Hunter on February 24, 1984.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Williams, Clinton; son, Terry (Patricia) Williams, Huntley, Ill.; grandson, Ryan (Kelly) Williams, Schaumburg, Ill.; two great grandchildren, Connor and Kara. He is also survived by step-son, Steve (Kathy) Hunter, Maroa, Ill.; 3 step grandchildren, Andy Hunter and Danny Hunter, Clinton, and Brandon Hunter, Decatur; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles and Paul “Gene”, and sister, Marilyn Bowman.
Stan enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Europe during and following WWII. He owned his local roofing business in Clinton, from 1962 until his retirement in 2000.
Stan was a member of the Clinton VFW and Clinton Eagles, FOE 593. He was designated as the “Oldest Living Golden Eagle” in the chapter.
