MAROA — Four Winds RV reported a truck entered their property early Tuesday morning (3:47-4:35 a.m.) and stole catalytic converters from motorhomes.
Security images were shared with the DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office, which were posted on the office’s Facebook page.
The vehicle was described as a late model Chevrolet standard cab truck. Commenters on the sheriff’s office Facebook page speculated it might be a U-Haul pick up truck.
Catalytic converters have often been the target of thieves because they contain a honeycomb element made of platinum. Catalytic converter thefts have spiked recently with experienced thieves able to remove the devices within a minute or less.
