JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — Tech Sergeant Alvin “Al” Leroy Winstead, 76, of Jacksonville, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019, surrounded by family at his home.
Al was born on July 10, 1943, in Clinton, to Clyde and Hallie (Cobb) Winstead.
He joined the United States Air Force and later the Air National Guard. He achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant, receiving an honorable discharge from the Guard in 2002.
Al enjoyed working and showing street rods. He was a member of the National Street Rod Association and Central Arkansas Rods.
He is survived by loving family, including children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings and his wife, Patsy Ann Winstead.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2019, at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 2 at the funeral home. Interment will be in King Cemetery in Lonoke County, Ark.
