MAROA — Fay O. Kaufman, 95, of Maroa, passed away at 7:41 p.m. on March 28, 2019, at Manor Court, Clinton.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2019, at Maroa Cemetery, Maroa, with her niece Tammy Hoffman officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10–11 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2019, at Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Weldon Springs Foundation.

Fay was born on March 30, 1923, in Texas Township, DeWitt County, Ill., the daughter of William A. and Nellie M. (Poole) Hoffman. She married Delbert E. Kaufmanon June 19, 1949, in Davenport, Iowa. He passed away on March 21, 2007.

Survivors include her only brother, Gene Hoffman, Clinton, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters,  Margaret “Sis” Hoffman, Helen Menapace, and Bonnie Miller, and  brothers,  William “Bill,” Edward, and Llew. 

Fay owned her own beautician business for several years.  She also helped her husband, Delbert, with farm tasks.  Fay enjoyed gardening and canning her vegetables.  Yard work and taking care of her flowers was also one of her favorite hobbies.  Fay loved animals and enjoyed caring for them.
