Clinton – More than 300 car enthusiasts gathered in Clinton Sunday, Sept. 29 as part of Scott’s 14th Annual Charity Car Show, collecting $9,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Illinois. The show is sponsored by Baum Chevrolet Buick of Clinton.

The show featured eight stock and four modified classes as well as truck, motorcycle and specialty car classes. Best in Show was awarded to Glen & Rita Rittenhouse of Pekin, Ill., for their 1966 Corvair Corsa. Greg Cunningham of Normal, Ill., earned a Participants’ Choice award for his 1960 DeSoto Adventurer.

Though the cars were a key attraction, the event also featured several raffles, including two fire rings – one donated in part by AAK Mechanical of Clinton – and a 50/50 award.

The largest raffle prize, a John Deere Gator XUV560E, was purchased for the event from John Deere retailer AHW, LLC of Clinton. Winning the Gator was Scott Hopkins of Clinton.

In addition to the Alzheimer’s Association volunteers, dealership employees and volunteers were also assisted by the Decatur Blaze Hockey team. More photos of the event can be found at www.facebook.com/baumchevroletbuick.
