CLINTON — Clinton Presbyterian Church will be hosting its second annual Hymn Festival: Hymnwriters Tell Their Story at 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 28, at the Clinton Presbyterian Church, 402 N. Center St., Clinton.
Participants can join with several well-known hymn writers who “reappear” at Clinton Presbyterian Church to build appreciation for the hymnody of the church. This is a unique hymn festival that features the primary hymn writers through the ages telling their own story in first person. An appropriate hymn is sung following each hymn writer’s comment accompanied on the historic Magill pipe organ. Commentary and hymns from writers such as Charles Wesley, Isaac Watts, Martin Luther, and Fanny Crosby, among others, will be presented and sung. A reception sponsored by the Clinton Presbyterian Church will follow the Hymn Festival.
This hymn festival is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be collected to support future hymn festivals and performances at Clinton Presbyterian Church.
