CLINTON — Curtis Kitelinger, 91, died peacefully in the early morning on January 13, 2019. He moved from Florida to live with family in Weldon in 2012 and entered Garden Court, Liberty Village, Clinton, in 2015.
Curt was born on December 8, 1927, in Jackson county, Wis. He “ran away” and joined the Merchant Marines, married and settled in Beloit, Wis., where he had numerous occupations, including piano tuner, meter reader, power company transformer maintenance, woodworking and trophies, bicycle knife/scissor sharpening route, locksmith and safe work, and “ran away” again traveling with a circus as a clown.
He loved hunting and fishing in northern Wisconsin as well. He retired to Florida, where he accepted Jesus and worked with STAR Ministry doing maintenance and building puppet sets.
He had an entrepreneurial spirit and could figure out a way to make anything work!
He is survived by his children Karen McCauley (Beloit), Martin Kitelinger (Beloit), and Connie (John) Nicholas (full-time RV Ministry) and their mother Dorothy Laskowski (Beloit).
A memorial service will be held on Thursday May 23 at Lane Christian Church, Lane, Ill., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.; 11 a.m. service followed by a luncheon.
Memorial gifts will be used to defray funeral costs.
