CLINTON — Erma Spencer, 102, of Clinton, passed away at 10:47 a.m. on May 27, 2018, at Manor Court, Clinton.

Private graveside services will be conducted on Friday, June 1, 2018, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, with Thomas Stout officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Friday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton.

Erma was born on October 9, 1915, in Peoria, Ill., the daughter of Elmer Ellsworth and Jessie Pearl (Houper) Welch.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia C. Rosenberger, Clinton; step-son John Floyd (Bonnie) Spencer, Spring, Texas and his two daughters, four grandchildren and one great-grandson; two grandchildren, Diana (David) Massey, Clinton, and Wesley S. (Terri L.) Rosenberger, Heyworth; four great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Russell Dean Rice; one step-great-grandson; three brothers and one sister.

Erma worked in various restaurants in Clinton and at Crestview Nursing Home.  She won the Two-Step Dancing in the talent competition of the Miss Senior Illinois Pageant, in August 1994.

Erma loved to sing, cook and sew and was a member of the Sewing Grandmothers.
