CANON CITY, Colo. — Hazel Irene Hitt, 92, died at Canon Lodge, Canon City, Colo., on July 6, 2020.
Born on December 15, 1927, in Wapella, to William and Leota (Hazlett) Scott, she graduated from Wapella High School in 1945 and married D. Bruce Hitt on August 28, 1946.
To this union were born Barbara (Dan) Marsh, of Illinois; Frances (Gary) Collignon, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Bruce (Su-san) Hitt, of Canon City, Colo.
Also surviving are grandchildren Ken Keister, Bill Collignon, Kris (Jeff) Williams, Carrie (Brandt) Dillon and Joshua Hitt, along with five great-grandchildren, Tristan Roberts, Logan Williams, Riley Williams, Shylah Dillon and Emma HItt.
Mrs. Hitt worked for many years as an elementary school secre-tary, as well as a medical transcriptionist. She appreciated the challenge of completing crossword puzzles, reading a good book, playing Canasta and watching movie musicals. She and her husband enjoyed attending social activities while they lived in Clinton. They moved to Canon City in 2011.
Preceding her in death were her husband, in 2014, her father, mother and four brothers, Wayne, Raymond, Kenneth and Billy.
At her request, services will not be held. She will be interred at a later time with her husband, in Clinton.
