CLINTON — Jerry Dean Burge, 67, of Clinton, passed away at 2:25 p.m. on November 19, 2021, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Mark Boehm officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 1–2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to Jerry Dean Burge memorial fund.
Jerry was born on June 8, 1954, in Gibson City, the son of Janie Burge. He married Donna Ranee Davis on May 20, 1995, in Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Ranee Burge, Clinton; children, Tequila (Jeremy) Strange, Decatur; Jerry Shaw, Weldon; Angie Burge, Louisville, Texas; Jeremy Hughes, Clinton; Joshua (Markita) Hughes, Powderly, Texas; and Jessica Burge, Decatur; step-children, Richard (Heather) Tennison, Rockford; Stacey Tennison, Beason; Darren S. Tennison, Clinton; Eric (Randee) Tennison, Eighty Four, Pa.; Justin Barber, Decatur; and Greg Spurling, Jefferson City, Mo; 43 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Nancy Roberts, Clinton, and Luther Roberts, South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Dorabell Bateson Weinzierl; and step-son, Robert Allen Tennison.
Jerry was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a truckdriver and enjoyed fishing. Most of all, he loved taking care of and spending time with his grandchildren.
