Jerry was born on October 29, 1940, in Clinton, the son of Orville and Lavon (Bray) Willoughby. He married Carol Jean Stoutenborough on April 2, 1961, in Maroa.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Jean Willoughby, Clinton; children, Shelley (Todd) Shaw, Clinton; Mike (Shelley) Willoughby, Clinton; and Troy (Lori) Willoughby, Maroa; six grandchildren, Lucas, Lindsey, Nolan, Sara, Hannah, and Ethan; five great-grandchildren, Logan, Jeffrey, Dylan, Owen, and Toby; brother, Gene (Barb) Willoughby, Clinton; sister, Pat Lord, Clinton; along with several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Paul Willoughby.

Jerry worked for Illinois Central Railroad and then became a supervisor at Portec in Clinton, retired from Wallace Computer Services, now known as R.R. Donnelly. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and turtle hogger. He loved to cook and enjoyed having “feeds” in the shed with friends and family.

Jerry loved singing and playing the guitar but especially loved the Lord. He was a strong man of faith who loved his family dearly. His favorite scripture was 2nd Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

He will be greatly missed by family, friends and all who loved him.
