MOREHEAD, Ky. — John Elton “Jack” Lewis, 82, of Open Fork Road, Morehead, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at his home.
He was born on August 4, 1939, in Haldeman, Ky., a son of the late William M. and Jessie Dryden Lewis.
Jack was a retired welding inspector for a nuclear power plant.
He was an entertainer in the music industry, having played for several bands, and he had also performed solo.
Jack enjoyed playing music, watching the Kentucky Wildcats, fishing, and he loved baseball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Danny Lewis, James R. Lewis and Paul Lewis and one sister, Betty Click.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Christian Lewis, two daughters, Debbie (Tom) Douin and Jackie (Rodney) Hunt, all of Clinton, Ill., one sister, Joyce (Dan) Lewis, of Morehead, four grandchildren, Mallie (Chris) Pyles, Alexandria (Alex) Carr, Lauren Hunt and Christian Hunt, three great-grandchildren, McKinley Pyles, Oakleigh Pyles and Maverick Pyles and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at the New Sill Cemetery, at Haldeman.
There was visitation.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
