CLINTON — Joyce Ann Rempe, 65, of Clinton, passed away at 3:03 a.m. on October 2, 2019, at McLean County Nursing Home, Normal.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Clinton, with the Rev. Fr. James Henning, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, with full military honors. Visitation will be held from 10–11 a.m. on Friday at the church. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.
Joyce was born on November 17, 1953, in Peoria, the daughter of Louis J. “Lou” and Emma Jean (Logsdon) Rempe.
Survivors include her siblings, Diane (Barry) Phipps, Decatur, Ill.; David (Wanda) Rempe, Decatur, Ill.; Carla (Bill) Good, Clinton; Eric (Valorie) Rempe, Clinton; Greta (John) Boudeman, Armington, Ill.; Teresa (Bill) Washburn, Georgetown, Texas; Steven Rempe, Clinton; Janet Vinson, Clinton, as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents.
Joyce was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Clinton. She served in the U.S. Navy from 1973-1977, where she was one of the first four female Hull Technicians in the Navy working in the San Diego and Philadelphia shipyards.
Joyce was a caring person with a generous heart, who loved her family. She enjoyed giving gifts and sending cards along with watching Jeopardy.
