CLINTON — Larry R. Cowman, 72, of Clinton, passed away at 9:57 p.m. on November 22, 2021, at Manor Court, Clinton.
No services are planned at this time. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, assisted the family with cremation rites.
Memorials may be directed to the Larry Cowman memorial fund c/o Patricia Cowman.
Larry was born on August 16, 1949, in Ames, Iowa, the son of Oscar and Eleanor (Phillips) Cowman. He married Patricia Ann Davis on August 31, 1974, in Las Vegas, Nev.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. Cowman, Clinton; his son, Randy Cowman (Amanda Mandrell), Clinton; and his grandson, Davis Cain, Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Eleanor Cowman and daughter, Amber Ann Cowman, Rosamond, Calif.
After graduating from Narbonne High School and attending Harbor City College, Larry enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was later employed by the federal government (civil service) and was involved in the Space Shuttle program in Palmdale, Calif. When the program was over, he was transferred to Edwards Air Force Base as Program Manager, where he worked on the SR-71 “Blackbird,” which was operated by the USAF and NASA.
Most of all, Larry loved his family, work, and his Harley.
