NORMAL — Lauren Allison Martin, 32, of Normal, passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident at 9:23 a.m. May 31, 2024, in Tazewell County, Ill.
She was born to Randy and Nancy (Kincaid) Martin on June 29, 1991, in Bloomington.
Lauren was the loving mother of Wilhelmina Martin. She is survived by her daughter, of Normal; her parents, Randy and Nancy Martin, of Clinton; her brother Christopher and his wife, Daphney Martin and their son, Archer Mickelson, of St. Johns, Fla., as well as aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Lauren was preceded in death by her grandparents, J. Kennedy, Jr. and Margaret (Graham) Kincaid, and Coy and Alice Jean (Thompson) Martin.
Lauren attended Clinton High School, Heartland Community College, Illinois Wesleyan University, and Southern New Hampshire University. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma at Illinois Wesleyan University. She was also a member of Pierre Menard Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.
Lauren worked at Monical’s Pizza and was part owner of Dairy Queen and Monical’s Pizza in Clinton. She also worked as a nanny and was a foster parent of numerous children. She was a strong advocate for children with special needs.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 9-11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Calvert Funeral Home in Clinton, with Ernie Harvey officiating. Burial will be in Texas Cemetery, Clinton.
