OAKBROOK – Jeanette Wey-Wissmiller, MDE, Owner and Director of J’s Dance Studio of Heyworth has just returned from the 2017 Summer Dance Training School, a nationally recognized annual event where dance professionals hone their teaching technique, educational theory and personal dance development.
Sponsored by the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters (CNADM), the workshops took place July 16-25 with eight days of intensive classes focused on teaching tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary and ballet to children along with classroom management and business education sessions.
Jeanette Wey-Wissmiller, MDE traveled to Oakbrook, Ill., for the workshop. Wey is an active member of CNADM, which means she has passed a rigorous membership exam and adhere to the association’s strict standards and code of ethics. She has continued her education earning her Masters of Dance Education and was newly elected to serve on the Board of Directors of CNADM.
“I’ve returned from the CNADM Dance Workshops feeling re-energized and so excited to bring cutting edge choreography back with me to our local community!” said Jeanette Wey-Wissmiler, who has been the owner/instructor of J’s Dance Studio for 23 years. “I especially learned a lot from Tom Alexander; he really knows how to relate to the teachers and shared an innovative routine that will challenge my students.”
Alexander, a choreographer and teacher in the Chicagoland area, was one of 12 highly sought-after CNADM faculty members who instructed the teachers at the 2017 Summer Workshops. Additional renowned dancers who traveled to the CNADM Workshops from all parts of the country included Melissa Anderson, Jeremy Plummer, Lyn Cramer, Joey Hernandez, Darryl Retter, Nick Pupillo, and more.
