CLINTON — Mary L. Weikel, 87, of Clinton, passed away at 8:15 a.m. on December 31, 2020, at Carle BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with the Rev. Michael Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 1–2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Clinton First Church of the Nazarene or the DeWitt County Friendship Center.
Mary was born on May 4, 1933, in Decatur, the daughter of Wesley Elmer and Rena Murril (Moore) Dunham. She married Dale Weikel on November 22, 1953, in Maroa. He passed away on January 17, 2013.
Survivors include her daughters, Cathy Daniels, Clinton; and Patti Darling, Bloomington; son-in-law, Jeff Hendricker, Clinton; five grandchildren, Joe Daniels, Jill (Matt) Sullivan, Jarrod (Erin) Darling, Jessa and Jordan Hendricker; seven great-grandchildren, McKinley, Ethan, Kelsey, Aidan, Kaylyn, Cal, Sophia, and brother, Harold Dunham, of Maroa.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Judy Hendricker, son-in-law, Joe Daniels, two sisters, and one brother.
Mary was a woman of strong faith and a member of the Clinton First Church of the Nazarene. She worked as the cafeteria manager for the Clinton School District but mostly at the Washington School. She enjoyed meals with her church group “Mondays at Monicals” and also eating with the “Friday Eating Group,” and BINGO at the Friendship Center. Mary truly loved her family and spending time with them.
