COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Ruth Austin, 90, of Colorado Springs, Colo., formerly of Brooksville, Fla. and Clinton, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. She was in Green Mountain Falls, Colo. at the home of her daughter, and under the care of Abode Hospice.
Ruth was born on November 21, 1933, in Pikeville, Ky., daughter of the Rev. John and Nancy Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Austin, her parents and three sisters. She is survived by her children, Greg Austin, Jann (Mike) Martin, and Teri (Michael) Rousseau. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Art and Andy Rousseau, Logan Martin, and Jackie Powell; as well as seven great-grandchildren.
Ruth loved her family and God. She had many friends who will miss her deeply. She worked for many years and retired as an emergency room nurse at Dr. John Warner Hospital, in Clinton. She loved camping, bike riding, walking, pickle ball, and spending time with family.
Memorials may be made in her memory to Clinton Community YMCA, Clinton United Methodist Church, or a local animal shelter.
