CLINTON — Thomas M. Followell, 76, of Clinton, passed away at 5:15 Pp.m. on December 7, 2021, at his family home in Clinton.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon, with Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with cremation rites.
Memorials may be directed to Tom Followell memorial fund.
Tom was born on June 8, 1945, in Weldon, the son of Fred “Jake” and Geneva (Gallway) Followell. He married Charlene Scogin on October 11, 1963, in Clinton. She passed away on March 23, 2017.
Survivors include his children, Genita Hawes, Clinton; Sue Followell, Clinton; and Chopper Followell, Clinton; longtime companion, Marica Pense, Maroa; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; as well as three sisters and one brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild, one great- grandchild, and five siblings.
Tom was a union operator and truck driver for many years. He was a member of the Clinton Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed feeding the squirrels and taking care of the feral kittens in the neighborhood. Tom loved sitting in his front yard and watching everyone driving by and waving. Most of all, Tom loved spending time with his grandchildren.
