CLINTON — Allen Sprague, 94 of Clinton, passed away at 8:46 a.m. on October 29, 2018, at his family residence, Clinton.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with his son, Jack Sprague, officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Keys Cemetery, Beason, Ill. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to Beason Fire Departent or Safe Haven Hospice.
Allen was born on March 9, 1924, in DeWitt County, Ill., the son of Carl and Ruth (Kephart) Sprague. He married Margaret Jackson on November 2, 1942, in Lincoln, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Sprague, Clinton; children, Jack Sprague, Centralia, Ill., Martha (Terry) Deavers, Clinton, Jane (Steve) King, Oxford, Iowa; eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter,Mollie Langley, daughter-in-law, Pam Sprague; two brothers and two sisters.
Allen farmed in DeWitt County and was a seed corn salesman for Hoblit Seed Company in Atlanta, Ill. for over 60 years. He was a member of the Waynesville American Legion Post; Clinton Elks Lodge; Beason Sportsman Club and past member of the Beason Grade School Board and Beason Fire Department Board.
