LEROY, Ill. — David M Meadows, 72, of LeRoy, passed away at home surrounded by his family Saturday on April 24, 2021. 

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday May 8, 2021, at St. Mary’s Church, in Downs.  A memorial mass will be conducted at 1 p.m., also on Saturday, with Father Dustin Schultz officiating.  Private inurnment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney. 

Memorial donations may be made to LeRoy Emergency Ambulance Service or American Heritage Gun Range (LeRoy Rifle and Pistol Club). Calvert-Belangee-Bruce LeRoy is in charge of arrangements.

David was born on October 24, 1948, a son of Everett and Loraine Myers Meadows.  He married Tina Wilson on June 20, 1986. She survives in LeRoy.  He also is survived by a brother Vernon (Kathy) Meadows – Wapella; children, Todd (Donna) Meadows, New Baden, Ill.; Amy (Darren Beauchamp) Ray, Orlando, Fla.; Christopher Brown, LeRoy; Eric (Mira Shiloach) Brown, Skokie,Ill., and Jana (Blake) Markwell, Downs. 

He was “Grampy” to Tyler and Kenzie Meadows, Lucas Ray, Isaiah Vannoy, Naomi, Orly, and Gabriel Brown, Alex, Kaleb, and Kara Markwell whom he loved beyond all reason.  His grandchildren were the light of his life.

David graduated from Wapella High School in 1966.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1966-70.  He was an avid shooter and was active in the LeRoy Rifle and Pistol Club as well as many ranges in the area.  His quick sense of humor and quiet calm demeanor will be sadly missed by his family.
