MAROA — Eileen Catherine Edwards, 87, of Maroa, Ill., passed away at 2:15 p.m. on November 4, 2017, at the Eastern Star Home, Macon, Ill.

Services to celebrate Eileen’s life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, with Greg Taylor officiating. Graveside services will be held at at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, at Mottarville Cemetery, Rochester, Ill. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.

Eileen was born on October 7, 1930, in Springfield, Ill., the daughter of William H. and Clara Agnes (Schmidt) Ryan. She married Charles “Don” Edwards October 15, 1948, in Springfield. He passed away on December 16, 2008.

Survivors include her children: David E. (Rose) Edwards, Nicholasville, Ky.; Carole L.  Barnhorst, Greenwood, Ind.; Darla Rae (Roger) Wiseman, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; siblings: Mary E. Springer, Springfield, Ill.; Carolyn Vancil, Springfield, Ill..; William J. Ryan, Murphysboro, Ill.; Donna Ryan Neuman, Chatham, Ill.; and special caregiver, and longtime family friend, Larry Pumphrey, Maroa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and one brothers.

Eileen was a retired secretary. She was a member of the Hazlemere Chapter #221 O.E.S., Taylorville, Ill.  She loved to do arts and crafts, sew, and cook.
