KENNEY — Gertrude Evelyn Clark, 92, of Kenney, passed away at 1:05 a.m. on November 24, 2017, at Symphony of Decatur, Decatur, Ill.
Per Gertie’s wishes, there will be no services. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with cremation rites.
Memorials may be directed to Symphony of Decatur.
Gertie was born on January 22, 1925, in Weldon, Ill., the daughter of William and Bertha Mae (Smith) Morrow. She married James Welton Clark on February 17, 1946, in Clinton. He passed away on November 17, 2007.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Welch, Decatur, and one sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.
Gertie was a member of Texas Christian Church and the DeWitt County Amateur HAM Radio Club. She loved cooking, gardening, crocheting, playing BINGO and living on the farm.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff at Symphony of Decatur, especially, Nicki, Tamisha, Marge, Jean, Warren, Janice, and Julie; along with special friends, Wanda, Chuck, and Bessie.
Gertie was a loving wife, mother and friend who will be greatly missed.
