LINCOLN — Marlene June Edwards, of Lincoln, passed away on November 27, 2020 at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt.Pulaski.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and she will be laid to rest next to her husband Ernest, in Upstate New York.

Marlene was born on June 10, 1934, in Skegness, England, the daughter of Charles and Lily Clayton. She married Ernest Edwards on December 17, 1956.

Survivors include her daughter Gloria (Timothy) Stauffer; two grandchildren, Sabrina (Chris) Burkiewicz, and the Rev. T.J. Stauffer.

Marlene’s extended surviving family includes two sisters, Gloria White and Ann (Ted) Howard, one brother Marshall Clayton, and many nieces and nephews.

She was greatly loved by her nephew Alan (Carol) Cawley, of Skegness, England, and extended family locally of Ruth Stauffer, Christine (Brad) Rhodes and family, and many dear friends.

When we think of Marlene’s life, we think of adventure; her habit of falling into a fit of laughter during serious or difficult situations and her buck-up attitude that always gave her the courage to bravely move through a new chapter of life. She loved the color yellow, roses, good British tea, cats and animals of all kinds, and always supported the USO and veterans groups.

Words cannot express how much we will miss her.

Memorials can be made to the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Hancock, Michigan at 601 Ignot Street, Hancock, MI 49930
